Woven Landscape

"I created a book sculpture from a vintage music book, yarn, and some beads.  The yarn colors were chosen because they reminded me of autumn leaves. I wove them in irregular lines to have the appearance of a fall landscape."

About the Artist

My name is Janet Reynolds and I live in Houston, TX.  I have been teaching art to children for six years.  My interest in book arts began when I attended a studio course at Boston University on book arts.  I was hooked.  I began looking for book making workshops and book making groups in my area.  I enjoy sculptural books and like to find ways to reuse and re-purpose materials.  I am interested in church architecture and have made several tunnel books incorporating this subject matter.
